Here in this tiktok I show a few close ups of the two kinds of acacia ring dishes that we have in the Etsy shop. The round dishes definitely took some trial and error. I have found that the best way to make these is by applying the white with a toothpick. It adds the perfect amount of white resin to the small dish to create just the right amount of lacing. For the long ring dishes I add two colors, a darker blue and a lighter teal, to replicate the varying blue tones of the ocean. When I look at these trays I am reminded of our honeymoon in Belize and our parasailing excursion! Watching the ocean waves from directly above them was mesmerizing, there was so much to look at! I love making ocean resin art because they can be little reminders of our favorite beach vacation experiences. Especially during the pandemic when many people aren’t traveling for vacation, it can be a lovely little reminder of happier times which we could all use a bit more of right now.
